Hello Members
First invoices for the 2019 membership dues and signage fees, were mailed out in late February. Thank you to those that have remitted their fees. Those that have received their receipts, were handed a survey along with their member card and certificate. We would appreciate you spending a few minutes to answer the multiple choice questions and comment on any concerns or suggestions you may have.
The survey can be brought to the GR Pharmacy (please ask to put your signed survey in the envelope at the service counter), mail it to GR Chamber of Commerce PO Box 601 or you can deliver to my address (501 Burman Court). There is a deadline to hand the completed surveys, April 15th as you have an opportunity to WIN one of two prizes offered (donated by Nootka Sound Services) SEE BELOW
You will get your survey when payment is received for dues and/or signage fees. If you would like information regarding these signs (located at the entrance to town/Tourist Info Location) and how to get one for your business, please email chamber@destinationgoldriver.ca and you will be contacted.
If you have decided not to renew your membership please contact me at vandenberg@cablerocket.com with a simple ‘Cancel Membership’ in the subject line and I will not send you a 2nd notice that will be emailed out on April 5th. Still plenty of time to fill out the survey and hand it in 🙂
This year’s Gold River Days are August 24th & 25th! The theme for the Parade and West Coast Wood to Wonder Chainsaw Carving Competition Aug 22-25 is ‘Local Wildlife’. What fun it would be to design, enter and participate in the Parade! Businesses, families, service groups, sports teams, individuals, friends-Anyone can participate! Prizes too! Please contact Roger Steele @ 7325 or Linda Vandenberg @ 2902 SEE ADVERTISEMENT BELOW
The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Soap Box Extravaganza again this year! Yay! It was so much fun and I’m looking forward to another successful event! We are offering G0-Kits to order that are the same as the ones we built and used last year ( which will be available to race ).
We would like to encourage participants to buy their own Kart and paint/decorate it and enter to win a prize! Karts can be built with any supplies as long as there are no motors, it has a brake and the wheel base and height requirements are followed to specs as they need to work with our ramps. I will be putting out a more detailed advertisement regarding the event and purchasing or building ones own Kart to the public sometime in April.
Sincerely
Linda Vandenberg
