Happy Birthday Canada!

Wow! 148 years young and still a very healthy country indeed.  Who’d of thought that in 1867 when signing the new Constitution Act on July 1 that Canadians would be one of the most liked cultures in the world?  We did of course!

After all Canadians are a mix of different cultures in the world all coming together to brainstorm, debate, implement and solve the everyday issues that face society.  With all that knowledge and background how could we not be the envy of everyone else?

Every Canadian in this country should be proud of who they are and what they stand for.  We work hard, play hard and dream big!  Our children are growing up to be some of the brightest minds in the world in every niche that pushes limits and betters society as a whole.

Everywhere in this country Canadians will be attending events to recognize the freedoms and rights enjoyed by everyone of us.  Parades of course will be popular as well as becoming a Canadian Citizen, outdoor concerts, food festivals, water sports, camping, and a whole myriad of other activities.

Where ever you are in this beautiful country of ours we here in Gold River wish you all the best and hope you enjoy your day of celebration!  On Vancouver Island it is extremely hot and muggy so we’ll be stocking up on sunscreen, water, hats and sunglasses.

The local legion will be celebrating by hosting a “Show and Shine” exhibition of vintage cars and providing hotdogs, drinks, pins, flags and temporary tattoos for two hours starting at noon.  This will take place in their parking lot and should be a lot of fun.

So come one and come all.

Happy Birthday Canada!!
